Title: Greetings from Saturn Post by: menokefug on August 23, 2013, 05:48:26 AM I probably became interested in fractals by reading Scientific American magazine in my school library in the late 1980s. I bought 'Chaos' by James Gleick, programmed my Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48Kb computer to make simple fractal music and a tiny mandelbrot set which took a week of multiple sessions to generate, since Spectrums got hot and crashed after an hour or two.
I recently learned how to program in PureData and wrote several multidimensional fractal sequencers to make fractal synth metal, i will make a new topic for that. Title: Re: Greetings from Saturn Post by: cKleinhuis on August 23, 2013, 08:06:47 AM Hello and welcome to the forums

Greetings, and welcome to this particular forum !!! There are several individuals here that did pretty much the same thing, and are your age (or older). :D I recently learned how to program in PureData and wrote several multidimensional fractal sequencers to make fractal synth metal, i will make a new topic for that. Fractal related music, and bands using such, may be found all over the world these days. I know of at least two dozen bands that are into fractals with their music. If you have uploaded any examples of your work, then please share a link where we can listen to it. :) Title: Re: Greetings from Saturn Post by: menokefug on September 08, 2013, 09:17:30 PM Hi everyone, thank you. I started a thread with links to my music here http://www.fractalforums.com/other-artforms/generative-multi-dimensional-fractal-synth-metal/ (http://www.fractalforums.com/other-artforms/generative-multi-dimensional-fractal-synth-metal/)
