Title: Forum Account will be Automatically Deactivated Post by: Nahee_Enterprises on August 14, 2013, 02:54:45 PM Got an email just a few hours ago, from I assume Christian Kleinhuis, that states the following:
Quote from: cKleinhuis This is the Final reminder Email, if you do not respond with a login to the forum your account will be automatically deactivated. ( This happens just if you have 0 posts! ) Since its been a while, we thought we would send you a personal invitation to return. First of all, I never got previous "reminders" for this to be a "final" one. What happened to the others?? :hmh: Secondly, according to the Stats page:
I know I have not been very active in posting that much anymore, but when I sometimes spend most of each week just trying to make a living so that I can survive a bit longer with my many cancer treatments, does not mean that I do not visit this forum and view what has been going on. I think automatic deactivation is a bit of over kill to clean out those people that have never participated at all, except for their initial sign up to the forum!!! Title: Re: Forum Account will be Automatically Deactivated Post by: cKleinhuis on August 14, 2013, 03:17:53 PM hi nahee, nice hearing from you, the system is automated, i installed it to clean out the user database from non-existant emails, or real inactive, the system is set to only delete users that have zero postings, so your account is going to stay, i am somehow sorry for it, but actually with 4.000 users we just have at most 1.000 real-emails, or real-users or something, and from time to time i want to send out newsletters, when doing so i get problems with my hoster because the system thinks i am doing a spam attack, although the system might be right, i dont want to spend time sending to non-existant email adresses this is the only plugin for the forums available for doing so, and i think it makes sense to sort out the user-database |
