Title: Fill the void
Post by: Kalles Fraktaler on August 12, 2013, 06:28:30 PM
Dinkydau showed with his image http://www.fractalforums.com/images-showcase-(rate-my-fractal)/verstoppertje/ the possibilities with palettes with different distances between key colors, adjusted for the particular image, to enable filling the big voids that usually are between the spirals in Mandelbrot fractals.
It might not be that useful when creating animations, since the short distant areas of the palette might not be suitable on a different magnification, but it is still very cool and news to me.

You can also make use of it in animations. In animations it happens often that the same figures appear multiple times. With such gradients, different parts of those figures are accentuated at different occasions.
