Title: Bismuth crystals - looks like fractals
Post by: Sitting Duck on August 11, 2013, 12:11:33 AM
Got a comment on one of my Pictures at deviantart.com http://fav.me/d6hh0nj (http://fav.me/d6hh0nj).
Aparently there is a guy making  bismuth crystals and they look like they are made in mandelbulb 3d. Check it out:http://beeblebroxz.deviantart.com/gallery/ (http://beeblebroxz.deviantart.com/gallery/) O0

Thanks, led me to Google all about Bismuth. An interesting diversion. :)

Yes! a bismuth crystal show like TETRABROT fractals
One detail I found on site WWW.BUGMAN123.COM at chapter hypercomplex fractals.
TETRABROT is a hypercomplex MANDELBROT SET as intersect of two mandel-cylinders and can find on site WWW.3DFRACTALS.COM
This formula:
newz1=z1*z1-z2*z2-v1*v1+v2*v2+cz1;
newz2=2*z1*z2-2*v1*c2+cz2;
newv1=2*z1*v1-2*z2*v2+cv1;
newv2=2*z1*v2+2*z2*v1+cv2;
z1=newz1;
z2=newz2;
v1=newv1;
v2=newv2;
 :) ^-^

Yes, many chrystals are fractal and bismuth builds one of the nicest. It was mentioned before at http://www.fractalforums.com/fractals-in-nature/fractal-crystal/msg37628/#msg37628 (http://www.fractalforums.com/fractals-in-nature/fractal-crystal/msg37628/#msg37628)
