Title: New developments in Mandelbrot rendering?
Post by: grobblewobble on July 12, 2013, 12:14:11 PM
Hi guys! It's been a while.. last thing I remember is that someone had made a web application (SuperfractalThing) that was able to render deep Mandelbrot zooms faster than Fractal Extreme, using some clever mathematical insight. What is the state of the art? Any new developments, new programs based on this technique?

Hmm there is a long thread about Superfractalthing, so I guess what I am asking for is a recap. :p

Hi. I've made a small program with this new maths. It is a simple program and it is not trying to solve the glitches that the pertubation method might produce, however it is allowing to fast explore the Mandelbrot set in depth not previously accesible.

If you want to make your own implementation I recommend that you take the time and read these two theads through and the linked pdf document

Sorry for the late response - and thanks for sharing. Really exciting to see those new developments.
