Title: Height map experiment
Post by: alij on July 03, 2013, 07:17:25 PM
Hi,

This is a fractal used as a height map

I am enjoying making these in Blender

What are you using to create the heightmap
mandelbulber outputs a rather nice Z-axes ( though it is inverted for use as a height map in Blender 2.66 )

Hi thanks for the tip.

I used Blender to create a height-map from fractals created with FractalZplot.
( I like the random batch render which outputs lots to work with )
one for the height-map and one for the texture map.

The texture map being  a mixture of the height-map texture but with some regions filled with a second and third fractal.

Added a couple of mesh lights and rendered using Luxrender.
