Title: Image of David Hilbert with a Hilbert curve
Post by: lkmitch on May 10, 2013, 05:37:21 PM
This isn't my image, but I thought it deserved recognition.  It's a Hilbert curve tweaked in such a way to produce an image of its namesake, mathematician David Hilbert.

It being a line, I would have thought it would have been a continuous loop, so I loaded the PNG into Paint Shop Pro and tried to fill in one of the white areas in the hat with a contrasting colour expecting only part of the white to fill in, but all the white changed colour.  I'm off to inspect further to see if the line has a start and finish or if it is a continuous loop.

Laters...

Edit: I found the ends of the line, at bottom left and bottom right, but my filling in of what was on the inside and outside didn't look as good as I thought it would. Oh well!
