Heh it seems I am not the only poster from Holland. It's fun seeing someone else exploring the Mandelbrot, I think you're using Fractal eXtreme, too? What is your favourite color scheme to use?

Yes, this is Fractal extreme. My favorite color scheme changes often, but I like dark and low-saturation colors most. Probably that's because there aren't many bright colors in nature either.

I guess you are using a desktop machine.  I use a laptop but it's simply not as fast as yours when exploring with Fractal eXtreme.

What's the spec of the machine?

GPU: nVidia 8800 GTS, 512 MB (nothing special)
Storage: 1500 GB, 750 GB and 250 GB Western Digital hard discs and 60 GB OCZ Vertex3 SSD for the OS, fractal software and adobe photoshop and after effects
Power supply: Corsair ax750, 750 watt 80+ gold
CPU coolers: 2× noctua nh-u9DO a3 for socket g34, 115 watt thermal energy diversion
Case: Cooler master HAF932, 140mm fan back, 3× 230mm fan top, front and side
Sound card: icidu pci 7.1
