Title: Mandelbulber crash when trying to render large images

hey...so tried to render a very large image (around 25 or so megapixels), but when i hit render, mandelbulber 1.13-1 crashes....when rendering now a 15 megapixel image, it is ok. here are my parametrs:notebook -  8gigs ram, i7-3820. intelHD4000 + nvidia K2000M (optimus). just letting u know bout in case u r working on a new version:)

I've successfully rendered 196 megapixel images (without tiling) on 16gig. Sounds absurd, but 8gig are low for 64bit bulbering...

oook...so if i get it right, the program will crash if theres not enough memory to do the render, right? btw...one more question (i am new to the program), is there a way to set the maximum ammount of cores to be used for the render or does it always use all cores?

Don't really know - possible. Approached the 196 mp Border somehow, but can't remember, what happened above...

afaik not the program iself. On windows 7 you can adjust it in the task manager. It calls process affinity (not priority) or something like that (Ihave a german system, so I don't know). In general I'd recommend to leave the affinity to all cores, but reduce the priority to lowest possible. Mandelbulber will still use all available cpu time, but you won't have latencies, when you do something else. Even gaming is possible then, while mandelbulber renders. The affinity will reduce the cpu usage regardless of your activity.
