It's an an entry for some contest, and he's clearly using the GLSL code of my X-Raytracer, the SurfaceKIFS formula, and even the presets included in the .frag! :fiery: But also is a nice demo, and he made some nice post-effects. :angel1: But I could prove to the judges of that competition that he stoled my work, and ask for him to be disqualified. :evil1: But is great to see fractals in demoscene. :angel1: But at least I would like to be credited! :fiery: What do you think I should do? :angel1: :evil1: :fiery: Title: Re: Someone at demoscene using my idea/formula/params Post by: Tabasco Raremaster on March 31, 2013, 09:46:19 PM Just give him/her the option to choose between credit you & disqualification because of plagiarisme.

IMHO since Fractals are based on open-to-everyone maths formulas, this kind of Art is part of the "Everything is a remix" cultural movement. One should be glad that someone else "remixed"/took things/got inspiration from him ( :angel1: ). And here he obviously worked a little to produce a video ( :angel1: ) . You should be credited if you can prove that he used your formulas ( :fiery: ) . And if this is true he is kinda dishonest not to have credited you (so i can see why you're angry :fiery: ). I rember a special feature in the most serious it magazine in Germany - ct - for their demo Hartverdrahtet. So be proud!
