uhm this seems like non-fractal-related chit-chat as well.
But I assume you're complaining about the lack of actual Fractal-related news?
I've been putting up various news related to fractals, self-organizational systems, cellular automata and similar things but on most of those I got little to no feedback. (With very few exceptions, I didn't even get an "oh that's interesting" or something)

If actual news that doesn't happen to be a new type of fractal or a flashy new fractal render gets so little attention, I think it's no wonder that said news barely happens.
Though I haven't seen a lot of news out there either. It might just have been a weak month for those kinds of things.

I see articles in the news too but dunno about posting links to them.
I just saw this one today:

Apophyster, by all means, post all you find!
Based on some conversations around the image gallery and such, I believe that was the original intend of this whole forum. To share fractal news.
The image sharing idea came only later.

Now, this place is a collection of admittedly beautiful fractal imagery and a ton of purely philosophical or fractal unrelated chit-chat.
I'm certainly not saying, all those should stop. They are important too. But I do think, the news here section should get a good deal more attention.

This fractal globulus news is perfect for "Fractals in Nature" or "New Theories and Research". Put it there! - I didn't know about it.

I see some type of article (that isn't promotional) about once a week.
I just use news.google.com and search for "fractal".  Recurring results I ignore are from a computer accessories company and one or two stock advisories based on fractals.  I mean those two types of hits are nearly daily.  Other recurring items occur on a less frequent basis.

But new developments (obviously) occur now and then, everything from using fractals in cryptography to medical findings that somehow use fractal math to stories written in a "fractal" form.
A while back I saw the item about the ability of some birds to be able to "grok" the health of potential mates.  It was shown that the "attractive" birds exhibited a higher fractal dimension in the feather colorings in and around around the neck and breast.  Something like that, anyway, that I posted somewhere in these fora.  (Should turn up in a search, heheh!.)
Every now and then really interesting stories appear, just like the fractal globule arrangement of the DNA molecule - I think I've seen several different wordings of the main idea.
Oh... it helps of course to set the "fractal" results to "Sorted by Date" rather than "Sorted by Relevance" when using Google News search.

I have also found that searching google news for stories that have moved off major media radar mechanisms often adds additional bits of puzzle-piece info to various and sundry curiosities which may at times, fester and gnaw, as fermentation might, yet the kernel concern of such stories often remains unresolved in my mind.
I just do that to appease my own curiosities though.  I am not a researcher or investigator of any kind.  I just like to do haphazard followups occasionally or the emptiness of "dangling conversations" starts gnawing, especially if said conversations (news stories) are those which are written with pragmatic concern for the genuine vital needs of all natural peoples and their heritage.
