Title: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on March 20, 2013, 09:39:33 AM Hi
I am Alp Tunali I am from all part of the world but I currently reside in the US Olympia WA and am 18, a body builder and attend university (I speak fluent turkish, german, english) First of all let me tell all of you about my computing power advantage my edge so to speak which is my computer with it's massive computing power and frosty coolers that allow such overclocking for long periods of times. this is my computer set up: cooler master haf x gtx 690 which is both liquid and immensely air cooled intel sabertooth x79 intel I7-3930k corsair dominator platinum 1866mhz 64gb ram 1400 watt power supply 2 X sata 6gb/s 64mb 7200rpm ocz vertex 4 128gb hydro h100 cpu cooler thermaltake bigwater 760 plus as gpu cooler 14x blu-ray burner universal card reader TL-WDN4800 Wireles N Dual Band PCI Adapter 5 X Gelid 120mm gamer Fan Gelid 140mm gamer Fan 2 X kinston ram coolers 4 X corsair 220mm fans heatsinks on all hard drives 2 X fan conrolers and temp sensor readers asus xonar stx I run this thing constantly overclocked a lot (will write config later on) and was able to do some beautiful 2D Mandelbrot renderings with ultra fractal 5 (but not many at all since I purchased it just today). but i did render 3 crude minibrots from (http://the ones I had calculated before (I have many more much more interesting ones calculated but not rendered). thanks pauldelbrot fro his coloring algorithm which I have altered(to give it more dynamic range). I am very very new into this fractal thing but I have been doing rigorous research. pool of jagged color: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8372/8587160477_59815a3120_h.jpg) 7E13 deep although not a complicated calculation in my hard-drive my most complex rendering yet 1:20 hours render time tiff minibort seahorsy: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8375/8588260926_a7c76eff2a_k.jpg) because the resolution is big it took 45 mins calculation time 2000000 itterations 9.8E9 deep and is found deeper into valley of sea horses seahorse beauty: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8236/8588260270_6e2efd7dd9_h.jpg) this is a particularly uninteresting one but its also a very simple one which means 30 sec calculation time 1E9 deep 400000 itterations I have also done some 3D rendering but am afraid to step into that world but like I said this is all meant to be a quick intro; I plan to render some pictures and videos that are hopefully much much more interesting in the future. I would like to have done a more detailed post but it is getting quite late here. more to come... :D Turns out you cant attach even moderately sized attachments here so temporarily I uploaded them to 500px the resolution drop is horrible thou I'am very disappointed. Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: kram1032 on March 20, 2013, 10:53:20 AM The forums currently have severe storage problems. Thus it's highly recommended to use external image sharing. You can then just embed your image with
Code: (http://pcdn.500px.net/28740943/f1de4b2c335134d8cd1d1bbcba3e00d59dfc7755/3.jpg)(http://pcdn.500px.net/28740941/62cb9cb524fbb01e7699e7c89137a8edfe3b00b8/3.jpg)(http://pcdn.500px.net/28740939/577479ecddeed503a8b9a24a0da1a8af0c5c4ba0/3.jpg) Pretty beautiful ones. They are bigger if you use the direct links though. Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: cKleinhuis on March 20, 2013, 10:57:28 AM hello and welcome to the forums
you really take it step by step, lol, i am keen how you react to the whole 3d world we present you here ;) i my youtube channel i will cover the bare mandelbrot2d as well, which is an remarkable object, and especially the seahorse and elephant valley downpathes lead to fascinating structures! Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Pauldelbrot on March 20, 2013, 11:54:30 AM Is that my multiwave coloring method? :)
Excellent images, regardless. Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: kram1032 on March 20, 2013, 03:55:16 PM haha, Kleinhuis, has it really come to this now? Calling The normal 2D Mandelbrot "rare"?
Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: cKleinhuis on March 21, 2013, 10:21:17 AM haha, Kleinhuis, has it really come to this now? Calling The normal 2D Mandelbrot "rare"? ?? read again, i wrote: "bare" not "rare" :) Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on March 25, 2013, 07:40:02 AM yes pauldelbrot it is your multiwave coloring algorithm(for which i am very grateful and did mention it in the first post, should have made it clearer) :embarrass:
but i did mess around a bit with it, especially peanut of beautiful symmetry and yet another minibrot(I probably will give them better names in the future ;D) sorry for the late reply but I have caught a nasty cold and have been fighting it for the past 3 days so here is some more: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8250/8587161119_b2eb802b54_k.jpg) (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8387/8588264304_149aa828ad_k.jpg) (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8098/8588294140_64cd184839_k.jpg) (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8240/8588871388_a2c1402965_k.jpg) Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on March 25, 2013, 07:44:49 AM yet another minibrot:
less than 10 mins render time http://www.flickr.com/photos/54220502@N08/8588871388/in/photostream ying yang: about an hour render time http://www.flickr.com/photos/54220502@N08/8588294140/in/photostream peanut of beautiful symmetry: less than 15 mins render time http://www.flickr.com/photos/54220502@N08/8587161119/in/photostream minibrot seahorsy: which is by far the most render heavy one 8+ hours http://www.flickr.com/photos/54220502@N08/8588264304/in/photostream Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Pauldelbrot on March 25, 2013, 04:41:37 PM Thanks.
I like the second one in that last column of four images. Looks like stained glass. Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on March 26, 2013, 04:23:40 AM (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8095/8591682344_e85bd7c815_k.jpg)
Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Pauldelbrot on March 26, 2013, 07:10:20 AM Nice. Looks like it's branched off from one of the earliest ten or so Mandelbrot Safari images, with some changes also to the color scheme.
Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on March 26, 2013, 10:13:12 AM glad you liked it here is one I quite like:
(http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8378/8591121439_04fe5c9a30_k.jpg) I will add more description as soon as I fight this cold :) Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Alef on March 26, 2013, 06:46:57 PM Wow, great. Maybe the most i like 8588294140_64cd184839_k.jpg, but thats becouse its something unseen. Maybe slightly more harmony in coulours, but pictures are very alive.
Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: kram1032 on March 27, 2013, 02:33:41 AM Welcome to Fractal Forums, selma.
I'd encourage you to write more than just quote somebody else and not write anything below that. Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on March 27, 2013, 10:34:07 AM yes, I was confused as well :hmh:
Anyway Here is some more: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8532/8593884621_e732cc9e42_k.jpg) yes I know its quite uninteresting at around 1.7E21 This one should please more: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8517/8594984596_8c4a5e8c88_k.jpg) At around 6E32 Brainz? (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8235/8594984004_4f503fa557_k.jpg) found this structure very interesting at around 2E24 I found this next one very beautiful: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8381/8593910183_bbbe8b2e8b_k.jpg) It's at around 5E18 Hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do! Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: makc on March 27, 2013, 12:04:14 PM where is this one (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8098/8588294140_64cd184839_k.jpg) at?

Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on April 01, 2013, 12:06:26 PM the ying yang one exists at:
0.2500002820025851691521065/2.42216311572863478875164e-10 at a magnification 3.37E13 it is quite interesting to see an attractor and a repellor converging into one point(it isn't fully ittered, nor can be since they touch at infinity) and I do have in my calculation a point with 2 repellors and 2 attractors converging to a point which is more interesting in my opinion(I will also render that one in the future, but it is much more complicated thus requires more render time) Also I had rendered these eye kind of looking(very interesting)structures 3 days ago and here they are: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8119/8609655918_7867dcc952_k.jpg) it is 3E32 deep Just deeper inside that point if you branch out pops another one of the beauties: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8101/8608549023_d89106e33c_k.jpg) it is 8E40 deep These are just a bunch of quick renders I have been sitting on for days I have been rendering one particularly elegant fractal and found that the rendering times are just not doing it. So I hooked up my old(one of them is also very powerful) computers to my network(dedicated another router for it) to calculate on many computers; so far I have some(but considerable) upgrade in calculating power(faster rendering times) Expect a more serious(more complicated) fractal rendering(hopefully) by wednesday Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: makc on April 01, 2013, 05:09:19 PM bug or feature?
(http://i47.tinypic.com/rj4kjn.png) Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on April 09, 2013, 08:13:18 AM It is a very simple to fix bug and I will fix it soon.
I am very sorry for the very late reply; my health had decreased quite a lot in the past 5 days(I seem to be recovering fine, though it is going to take more time) I was finished with this beauty on Tuesday(the 2nd) but recovering was my priority Here is the most complex one I rendered yet(probably only a glimpse of the stuff that's to come) (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8392/8633045995_1fd02334be_k.jpg) Also I have been rendering some 3D madelboxes and bulbs in mostly mandelbulb 3D but also mandelbulber and a couple of others. I will probably post some 3D's in the future. Enjoy! Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on April 17, 2013, 07:54:01 AM Sorry guys it's been a while since I posted a pic but I have been doing a lot of 3D explores.
Also I am working on a bare c++ Mandelbrot explorer(thanks to my father) in hopes I will get faster results. but here they are: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8102/8656351763_50f50d79da_k.jpg) I like the simplicity in these ones(above and below). (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8118/8657456728_c23427bfe3_k.jpg) I actually quite like this one(makes a nice background). (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8117/8657457272_b63f7a4c1e_k.jpg) As you can see this one is in the dragon valley and gives pretty beautiful detail. And here is the actual one(although not that render heavy or complex). It is deep in the antenna of the Mandelbrot(where the detail evolves quite simply as you go down) The most complex and beautiful(in my mind) of the four: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8125/8657457442_61ff5d7190_k.jpg) Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on April 20, 2013, 12:34:44 PM Since the Ying Yang convergence point got some attention, I rendered this one:
(http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8256/8665418048_4a09e5cc6f_k.jpg) If you explored the Ying Yang point, you already know this happens only further into a spine. As you would expect this one is in one of the further spines(towards the antenna of the Mandelbrot). And here is a very simple yet very beautiful one: (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8259/8665417660_07c86b0814_k.jpg) As always please do enjoy! Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on June 09, 2013, 11:29:35 AM I haven't been posting these days because I had a lot of things to do.
But I am now working on a very exiting one!! :D Title: Re: Holgram's first steps into the fractal universe Post by: Holgram on September 12, 2013, 11:14:25 AM O0 YEAH!!
Back From summer so expect some fractals soon. Here are the old competition entries: This one ranked the Highest! Funky Toad (http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5442/9730947916_ba0ee8c3b8_o.jpg) I absolutely LOVE this one. Wild Flower (http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2819/9730946136_7970da18ab_o.jpg) And this next one is a deeper point inside the Wild Flower one. Here it is!!! Shazaam! Arcane Water (http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3800/9727719673_17e3b32a00_o.jpg) Yeah, feast your eyes on that last one. Oh yeah it's also my birthday. woohoooo!
