What is new in version 1.8.8:
  -  Fixed issues in the navigator and lighting.
  -  'Smooth' option when calculating only one hard shadow.
  -  New but slow monte carlo rendering method: 'M.C.' button in 'Utilities'.
  -  Author names can be inserted into the parameter, look in 'Infos' tab.
  -  Support for loading 48 bit PNG maps and background pics.
  -  Exchanged the png unit with the old one because of reported saving issues.
  -  Preview images in the loading dialog for m3i (if images are stored in).
  -  Background images are also displayed in the navigator.
  -  Rightclick on the map-nr fields brings up an opendialog for file-choosing.
  -  Formula hybrid combinations with option for start nr of the second hybrid.
  -  Animation preview with manual slider scrolling.
  -  Button to adjust the object color scaling to the histogram.
  -  'Color on iteration' option in the coloring tab.
  -  Some minor changes.

Time to start exploring the new enhancements... Thanks Jesse! Am I right in assuming that parameters in this version render the same as in 1.82? (just want to be sure before I delete my previous installment...)

Update 1.8.8.1:
  -  After parameter changes in the navigator, the zoom could be infinite when walking.
  -  Added drawing on image function in the color adjustment window. (see html readme)
  -  Some minor changes.
  -  Bugfix + speed increment of ABoxSmoothFold formula

(Color and other changes can always happen between versions, especially to version 1.8.2 there can be big changes in certain parameters!)

Sorry, somehow i have managed to miss your post completely  :hmh:

What might be also an option is to rename the old executable into say Mandelbulb3D182.exe and let it in the directory...

NP, it's no big issue. I see very little difference in colouring when I export parameter files from 1.82 to 1.88 so it seems to work. I don't rename older files, I just create new folders for every new version. There are 10 now  :-\
