Title: Is there anyway to generate the Mandelex in M3D? Post by: bruceatsr44 on March 03, 2013, 06:49:21 AM Referring to the new formula in this this thread (http://www.fractalforums.com/new-theories-and-research/an-interesting-fractal-the-mandelex-%28inspired-by-the-box%29/)
Is there any way to generate this in M3D or would we have to wait for Jesse to implement it (if possible), and if he did how would he do it? Title: Re: Is there anyway to generate the Mandelex in M3D? Post by: cKleinhuis on March 03, 2013, 08:55:46 AM right now it is not implemented in mandelbulb3d lets wait until darkbeam finds the time to implement it in raw assembly ;)

Title: Re: Is there anyway to generate the Mandelex in M3D? Post by: cKleinhuis on March 04, 2013, 12:22:37 PM the transformation is not that hard at all, look into news#6 and tutorial#2 for a visualisation of the transforms
each transform is easily grabbable from accompanied frag file, the "rotation" and the "scale" could be unified to one operation, but this would be just optimization, linear and nonlinear pull behave very straightforward it would be a rather long pluginmodule anyways due to 7 operations involved... Yes, we have to wait unles you know assambler language. Don't forget this is free and enthusiasm based software. There alredy are couple of threads about this. In Ultrafractal I tried mixing REB5 mandelbox with mandelex. It was pretty smooth. I don't like mandelex too much becouse in my opinion it looks too much techno. But realy I get bored in galery to see so many self similar asurface _rotate tree shapes and maybe it would bring up another kind of patterns. REB mandelex version seems to be pretty smooth function, at least no sand effect in mandelbox x mandelex hybrid. Maybe alsou this, but you should watch iterations. http://www.fractalforums.com/images-showcase-(rate-my-fractal)/swirlbox-10-and-zooms/ (http://www.fractalforums.com/images-showcase-(rate-my-fractal)/swirlbox-10-and-zooms/) |
