Title: Swirlbox 3D animated Post by: Alef on February 25, 2013, 07:22:25 PM Animated 3D of swirlbox formula. It contains some short anims made of parameters of pictures shared before, some I think are good, and some aren't. I kind of liked flyght throught grey rocks and mutating bulb, but not so some other. It looks that 8 turns (spin) generates the most appealing shapes, the bulb is developing from spin=5 to spin =8. Turns here are as rising in power, so it is like magic 8th power.
Video is made on Pentium II 500 MHz, 97 828 KB RAM, Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3. Probably with better PC animation would be much smoother, but on another side then I woud have less so time. Background music is by Tune Smithy, seven-limit-slendro-harp . At least, you can chose what to use as thumbnails, you can download videos, and vimeo don't have all the google features.

Really nice animation. It's nice to see how this seems to have "multiple generations point" - i.e. you can see how features "come out of" or "vanish into" more than a single sharp point or line as seen in the Mandelbrot set or the Mandelbulb. Instead, they seem to come/go from eight points in this case. |
