Title: Update on the next Release Post by: Nahee_Enterprises on March 24, 2009, 12:02:49 PM Nicolas Desprez announced recently that he has "been working on the code" for version 0.4, "specifically transferring the colour computations from the rendering 'engine' to the attractor 'engine'." Of course the older version is still available at http://www.chaoscope.org/ (http://www.chaoscope.org/) .
Here is a list of the NEW FEATURES currently implemented: • New Saturation parameter for all modes • Anti-Alias optional for all modes • Opacity optional for Solid Mode • Quark equation was added • Caching of rendered attractors in RAM • Background color for Light and Plasma modes • Multithreading (two threads for render) • Perspective (broken!) • Recent files list in File menu And the FIXES installed: • Setting Preview Iterations below 50,000 was causing Light and Plasma to crash • Gradient name wasn't cleared when gradient was randomized or reversed • Closing a project while animating would crash the program • View wasn't cleared when no attractor found on fast computers • Sliders thumb is resized properly when property is selected He is also looking into moving to a Forum (similar to this one) instead of using the current mailing list (http://www.freelists.org/archives/chaoscope). It may be awhile, since the beta testing has not even begun for the next release, and there are a few more issues and features which Nicolas was wanting to address. |
