Title: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Menger Sponge, Sierpinski, Peano, Tree...) Post by: tit_toinou on February 02, 2013, 05:25:50 PM Hi everyone !
Here is two fractals I made and printed :) . http://www.shapeways.com/model/857223/developing-koch-snowflake-fractal-with-holes.html (http://www.shapeways.com/model/857223/developing-koch-snowflake-fractal-with-holes.html) (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_857223_788501_1359658039.jpg) (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_857223_788503_1359658053.jpg) http://www.shapeways.com/model/857320/developing-koch-square-fractal-with-holes.html (http://www.shapeways.com/model/857320/developing-koch-square-fractal-with-holes.html) (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_857320_788508_1359658128.jpg) (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_857320_788509_1359658141.jpg) Title: Re: Koch Snowflake & Square [3D Printed] Post by: bib on February 06, 2013, 11:55:01 AM Excellent!!
Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Sierpinski, Peano...) Post by: tit_toinou on March 03, 2013, 02:51:16 PM I'm back with two new fractals. This time they are square-filling (when the iteration goes to infinity).
Here is a modification of the Peano 2D curve : (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_917212_848408_1362317669.jpg) http://www.shapeways.com/model/917212/wunderlich-peano-square-filling-fractal.html (http://www.shapeways.com/model/917212/wunderlich-peano-square-filling-fractal.html) This design is very flexible. Here is the Sierpinski Curve : (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_910655_848406_1362317511.jpg) Starting from a cross shape : (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_910655_848407_1362317492.jpg) http://www.shapeways.com/model/910655/sierpinski-square-filling-fractal.html (http://www.shapeways.com/model/910655/sierpinski-square-filling-fractal.html) Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Sierpinski, Peano...) This is ace! Crude now, but the potential we only dreamed of 4 years ago is taking real shape! Good work! I love this forum! Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Sierpinski, Peano...) Post by: tit_toinou on March 06, 2013, 10:49:17 AM Thanks!
Well I use my own software written in C# with Visual Studio. The red fractal is quite interesting. (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/674x501_917212_848412_1362317660.jpg) It is a swastika developing into 9 shapes. You can observe 4 swastika on a diagonal and 4 sauwastika on the other diagonal. On the middle you have a big H. On the top and bottom middle you have two tridents. Post by: tit_toinou on April 03, 2013, 06:33:25 PM A new fractal (classic one) :

Post by: tit_toinou on April 18, 2013, 04:08:34 PM Yeah he inspired me (not for the tree) ! I made the model he didn't do. My holes are bigger so my objects are cheaper. I also plan to do a Gosper Curve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gosper_curve) (maybe).

I've printed new models. Diamant de Sierpinski, A bigger version of the tetrahedron, but this time with a square base + a reflection + more iteration : (http://images3.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1731377_2802962_1399739420.jpg) (http://images4.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1731377_2802963_1399739420.jpg) (http://images3.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1731377_2802964_1399739420.jpg) (http://www.shapeways.com/model/1731377/diamant-de-sierpinski.html) Eponge de Menger de degré 7, an emptier version of the Menger sponge : (http://images3.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1750673_2802916_1399739167.jpg) (http://images4.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1750673_2802917_1399739167.jpg) (http://images2.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1750673_2802918_1399739167.jpg) (http://www.shapeways.com/model/1750673/eponge-de-menger-de-degre-7.html) Fractale Pharmacie, a cross-shaped fractal (from the same algorithm of menger sponge) : (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1750674_3053630_1402159029.jpg) (http://images3.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1750674_3053631_1402158596.jpg) (http://images1.sw-cdn.net/model/picture/625x465_1750674_3053632_1402158596.jpg) (http://www.shapeways.com/model/1750674/fractale-pharmacie.html) Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Menger Sponge, Sierpinski, Peano, Tree...) Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Menger Sponge, Sierpinski, Peano, Tree...) Post by: rlbagulatftn@yahoo.com on July 04, 2014, 07:06:43 PM There is no standard naming system for Sierpinski -Menger sets that I know of.
I did a search and this post came up. I found two type just the last two days that I'll upload pictures of: Doublebee Menger cube 9x9x9: and Dublebee Sierpinski gasket Prism 4x4x4 (today): Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Menger Sponge, Sierpinski, Peano, Tree...) Post by: tit_toinou on July 05, 2014, 01:24:39 AM Hi !
I like your model do you have it in 3D (like in .stl) ? This kind of fractal is very easy to produce by dividing a cube into n^3 little cubes and deciding in which of these cubes to continue the fractal. I've made a lot of these kind of fractals in 3D but unfortunately I can't print them all. Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Menger Sponge, Sierpinski, Peano, Tree...) Post by: jehovajah on July 05, 2014, 07:21:06 AM Keep printing what you can and doing what you are doing! It is great!
You do know the architectural and engineering significance of this? :dink: Title: Re: My 3D Printed Fractals (Koch, Menger Sponge, Sierpinski, Peano, Tree...) Post by: tit_toinou on July 08, 2014, 02:36:37 AM Thanks! No I don't. I just think everything in the world is fractal until proven otherwise. I would love to hear what you have to say about the "architectural and engineering significance of this". |
