Title: Another buddhabrot gallery!
Post by: Eric B on January 23, 2013, 03:30:33 AM

These are Buddhabrots from the 15 largest, approximately, islands along the real axis of the Mandelbrot set. There are two Buddhabrots for each island - see the filename. My program now allows one to look at other orbital clusterings besides the region of the complex plane corresponding to the classic image

My next Buddhabrot gallery will be color. I've several algorithms I've dreamt up to colorize these pictures.

It's just my opinion, but I'm not such a fan of that orientation.  I think given their general shape, Buddhabrots look most aesthetic in their "natural" orientation or turned 90 degrees clockwise like many people tend to do.

Nice results. You can get rid of the "grid" effect by adding a small random value to the initial values... Or just don't draw the first few iterates.
