Title: Diamond Post by: Pauldelbrot on March 16, 2009, 08:41:52 AM (http://u5789.direct.atpic.com/24801/0/1268936/1024.jpg) (http://pic.atpic.com/1268936/1024)
A zoom into Gemstones (http://www.fractalforums.com/images-showcase-(rate-my-fractal)/gemstones/), centered on one component of the period-69 attractor. The basin component surrounding it, with phi coloring, does look a bit like a cut diamond seen from above or something. The color gradients and basin assignments are identical, save that the smoothed iteration gradients are mapped to the range of iteration values occurring in the image in each respective basin, and so have shifted somewhat since the iteration values are higher than in Gemstones.
