The center of the bright spot. The patterns seen throughout this area recur, including the two "bridges" across the spiral lake. A regular perturbed Mandelbrot could have such features in an isolated area, but the pattern would be localized and not repeat itself exactly elsewhere. The spirals would change character, gaining or losing the cross-connections, over space rather than having the same gains and losses of cross-connections repeating from one instance to the next. The second dynamic variable adds perturbation that itself changes in a fractal way, interdependently with the first dynamic variable; it's a slice of a 4D fractal whole that's fundamentally different from a Julibrot.
