Title: Help in Fragmentarium
Post by: Tim Emit on January 15, 2013, 09:03:36 PM
Hey.. not sure how many frag users there are out there but I have recently been enjoying the program and a big thanks to the creator and contributors of fragments (pablo,knightly,theli-at) .. I was looking for a way in to getting more from this program in particular the lighting and colouring modules and also how to bring other fragment features (ie. reflections if they are locked out or a different type of renderer) into the piece you are working on.. I will pop this example taken from theli-at psuedokleinian frag...  feel free to use as you wish , it's a nice spot..
What I am looking to understand is how to add reflections or improve the textural quality of the objects to make it look metallic using the colouring/lighting modules (as it is it is pretty flat and more like a vector piece than a real object!)... any advice very much appreciated .. thanks Tim  ps..remember I am a mathematical imbecile

Hi Tim! reflections are already included in the default raytracer, but locked by default (for performance purposes). You have to unlock by clicking on the yellow icon next to the reflection parameter, then press "Build" (the "play" button), and then use the slider to set the reflection amount.

remember I am a mathematical imbecile

102+23=?

If you can at least solve this you don't have to call yourself like that ;D

EDIT: Also you must press "Build" after pasting the parameters because the default params have reflections locked

@Kali.. thanks for that.. it works fine now.. I had unlocked it but hadn't hit build again.. i thought that re wrote the whole thing from scatch.. cool :)  and yes I can add that lol  :tongue1:
