Title: Mandelbrot screensaver question Post by: wilykat on December 26, 2012, 01:15:57 AM Long ago when I still used Macintosh, I had After Dark screensaver which included Mandelbrot. It started at the top level and computed every pixels. When it was done, it'd do a rectangle box to show the next area, then enlarge that area and re-compute it and repeat until it reached the theoretical limit before starting back from the initial level.
Here's a link about this screensaver and a few screenshots: http://home.comcast.net/~hal9002/mandelbrot_set.htm Is there a current Mandelbrot screensaver that works on Windows 7-64 bits and can do continuous zoom and re-compute? Optionally one with multi-monitor support (either as one very large view or multiple separate views) and multi-core friendly. TIA!! The advantage is that this one is free, not a trial version and supports Windows 7. I've downloaded and installed it, and it's working really well: http://www.nichesoftware.co.nz/nicheMANDELBROTsaver (http://www.nichesoftware.co.nz/nicheMANDELBROTsaver) |
