Title: Casper from the world! Post by: boopcasper on December 18, 2012, 04:06:23 AM Hi fractal forums!
Unfortunately, I just found out about the wonderful world of fractals. I am 20 and wish I could have known about them sooner, because I am an industrial design student. I have occasionally taken acid and never got any hallucinations or bright visuals but last time... WOAH... I looked into the sky and there were suddenly triangles all over the sky. How do they all fit so snug together? How can I see into infinity and how is it that I came to find all of this mysterious system on my own??? As a designer, I was already familiar with the properties of the Golden Ratio, the "fingerprint of god", but had to look into this new pattern. by chance, I found information on fractals within minutes of getting home and spent all night playing with what I learned. I designed a fractal city in 2D with my design skills and started looking into the 3D possibilities of Fractals because I wanted to know if I could stretch my structures upwards fractally as well. I found out quickly that I could. Although my entry into the world of fractals was by extraordinary means, the effect is no less extraordinary. Your world has infatuated me and I am already experimenting with Mandelbulbs and other forms of fractal rendering, on paper and on 3D planes. As a clear noobie in this field, I would appreciate any pointers to help me gain a sense of direction in it. I have skills in Rhinocerous 3D modelling, 3 Point perspective drawing and visual aesthetics, but I have no clue how to go about making a fractal structure of my own, if that is even possible. I hope to become a part of this community and learn as much as I can about these beautifully perfect shapes. And boop, there's Casper. Title: Re: Casper from the world!
