Title: Fractals in the intestine
Post by: FractalRayan on March 04, 2009, 10:15:43 PM
Hey everybody ! :dink:

My name is Rayan, I'm 17 years old and ready to discover the whole world of fractals.
As a matter of fact, I'm working on a school project about fractals in the intestine, more precisly in the micro-villus. Do anyone here has precise informations on which fractal pattern we can find there ? Also, is it possible to modelize a fractal knowing it's dimension ( that would be 2,7 for the intestine). I really hope to hear from you guys, and Thanks !!

Rayan

There was an article written a couple of years ago concerning fractals and the colon.  It is a short PDF file located at:   http://www.waset.org/pwaset/v11/v11-47.pdf (http://www.waset.org/pwaset/v11/v11-47.pdf)

In fact, there are many similar articles around the Net describing fractal like structure of the small intestine.

As to which "fractal pattern we can find there", I am not sure the "finger-like" structures actually have a  specific name that I am aware of.
