Title: Frontier and Frontier II Post by: Pauldelbrot on March 04, 2009, 05:23:49 AM (http://u5789.direct.atpic.com/25268/0/1253009/1024.jpg) (http://pic.atpic.com/1253009/1024) (http://u5789.direct.atpic.com/25268/0/1253010/1024.jpg) (http://pic.atpic.com/1253010/1024) A Matchmaker Julia set with one attractor of period 11. Even with only one attractor, a very convoluted Julia set can result. The first image is colored by smoothed iterations. The second is colored by phase: the number of iterations, modulo 11, to hit a target disk about a particular one of the 11 points in the attractor. Unfortunately, the JPEG version of the first image is of less than ideal color fidelity. A 2048x1536 PNG is available upon request, as usual for most of my images.
