Title: color maps in Mandelbub 3d Post by: halo666999 on November 25, 2012, 12:10:17 AM Hey there, just wondering if there was a way I could make my own color maps for mandelbub 3d with Photoshop CS6 (or another program...really I'm not fussy, and have access to many...that's just my favorite atm ) and import them somehow; and if anyone knows of any sites where I could download color maps from. I am very new to this program and still trying to figure stuff out. Thanks in advance for any help that comes my way

The default 15 colour maps are stored in the M3Dmaps folder. You can add any image to the folder by renaming it as an ascending number from 16 onwards up to 300. The maps can be bmps, jpegs or pngs, and don't have to be large. 256 pixels square will do it. Should be easy to create some colour gradients in PS. The cool 3D prog Incendia, comes with a little random tile generator, that creates 30 256 pixel square tiles in a single click. Some are crap (it's random) but some are very useful for maps. Hope that helps. Steve. |
