Thanks Dinky, here's another one (and better I think):

That's enough to hypnotize a cuttlefish :) Now make the brightness vary over the fractal as well. These are very cool Kali!

from where does the brightness come ? from density ? or is it an animated param of yours !?

@eiffie: thanks, and good idea... I'll try to do something later

@CK: It comes from accumulated step count... the rays don't stop when passing through the fractal and as it is a surface with no volume, the results are this thin bright layers, then I use sin function to vary the intensity in time.

This one uses different approach for the volumetric rendering, and also I implemented eiffie's idea :)

These movies are incredible!
Are they dynamic fractals? It looks like the small parts oscillate more quickly, but maybe you clamp the oscillation speed as I would expect more bristling of the surface otherwise.

Thanks, Tom. This are not dynamic fractals, but will post some fractally animated ones later.

I love these!  Subtle.

Awesome.  I really need to learn to animate with fragmentarium.

Thanks SJS02 and Benesi.

In Fragmentarium declare this:

Code:
uniform float time;

Then you have to do all based on this time variable. Consider that you have to use the older non-progressive renders (like DE-Raytracer-v0.9.1.frag). For this animations I'm using my own tracer mod, and I use sin and cos function for varying parameters. I still have to work on camera animation, but maybe I'll wait for Syntopia to implement some keyframe system (he said is planning to do it in the future versions).

These are stunning! Excellent work as usual Kali :)

Thanks Tom!

I just uploaded this to Youtube, but not so good video quality:

Love the jellyfish.  :D    Apparently there was a bug in the version I was using- time didn't increment in animations.  I downloaded the newest beta (from the DE thread), and will probably get around to testing it tomorrow.  Without keyframes...  I'm going to have to design a bunch of algorithms around time to manipulate the variables...

Super! Jellyfish. Well, maybe try making it green like leaves?

Nice stuff! Reminds me on flame fractals, and I love flame fractals ;-)

I am gobsmacked.

Those are gorgeous. Wonderful idea and beautifully rendered.
