Made some discoveries lately, and thought I would share.

The Mandelbrot set is all over the place in the Mandelbulb3d formulas. I picked 6 of them (and labeled them for you), cut them at Z=0 to get to the Mandelbrot set in the middle, zoomed in on a spot I like to call the "Cakewalk", a nice set of twisty meandering lines like branches or riverbeds, and painted them all with the same image map.

You may notice that the image map, like the right stain for a piece of wood, brings out the Mandelbrot intricacies of the slice surface. This is lots of fun! The background image (what little of it shows) is a Mandelbrot set from the starting screen in Xaos, arranged in a Serpinski Triangle using FrangoCamera for the iPad (love that app!).

I hope you like it.
