Prior to gigahertz class 64-bit processors an images such as this would have required weeks to months of time to render -- not overnight. Assuming the 'top level' mandelbrot is 1 foot per side (square foot) each power of 2 zoom (magnifying glass 1/4 screen size)doubles this. By the time one reaches this >> galactic sized fractal the top level Mandelbrot would be trillions of light years in size.
