Title: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: SFRealm on October 16, 2012, 10:12:40 PM I have recently started using Mandelbulb 3D by Jesse and it's a cool program. I have viewed the Videos by Don Whitaker. Read many posts here and some found and read through Google search. I came
across some images I would like to know how to get somewhere in the ballpark in creating (I do not want to re-create them but a set up for the natural plant life and landscape parameters) Here's the links. http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest3-184754170?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=45 (http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest3-184754170?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=45) http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest2-184753387?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=44 (http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest2-184753387?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=44) http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest4-184755064?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=46 (http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest4-184755064?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=46) http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest-5-184756228?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=47 (http://im1happy.deviantart.com/art/The-Lodian-Forest-5-184756228?q=gallery%3Aim1happy%2F26542462&qo=47) Thanks Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: DarkBeam on October 17, 2012, 03:45:04 PM I think it's done by a combo of abox + foldingintpow or only foldingintpow or who knows. Welcome :alien:

Darkbeam may be right but why don't you ask the author? However, even if he divulges his secret there is a minimum chance to reproduce these shapes. I seriously suggest to go your own way and find something better. ;) Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: DarkBeam on October 17, 2012, 06:58:14 PM Hi and welcome! Welcome :alien: Thanks. I have been trying them out. Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: SFRealm on October 17, 2012, 09:28:33 PM Hi and welcome! I re-read what I wrote and I meant Formulas instead of Parameters that are more organic. I guess I'm looking for an Encyclopedia of the Formulas to see what they do which might give some insight into how to combine them. As I said, I'm not trying to re-create the persons work.Darkbeam may be right but why don't you ask the author? I'm confused on this I guess because of the siren smiley. Is there a tool that you can type the Formula into and it tells you what the Formula does basicly? Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: Sockratease on October 17, 2012, 09:50:30 PM Try clicking the "i" next to a formula name. That tells about each formula's properties, but combining them - that's trial and error. What combines nicely with one formula could produce garbage combining with another.
Good Luck! Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: SFRealm on October 17, 2012, 09:54:12 PM Try clicking the "i" next to a formula name. Thank you very much for that tip of clicking the i. :) Thanks Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: DarkBeam on October 18, 2012, 10:09:27 AM DarkBeam. Don't worry, it's a joke since you normally can not guess which formulas (or which program! :D) are/is used simply looking at an image. But sometimes I guess correctly :dink: have fun Title: Re: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help Post by: SFRealm on October 19, 2012, 03:36:44 AM :headbatting: :star: ;D Pretty good guessing ;D |
