Title: Mandelbulb 3D - A Few Questions - Help
Post by: SFRealm on October 16, 2012, 10:12:40 PM
I have recently started using Mandelbulb 3D by Jesse and it's a cool program. I have viewed the Videos by Don Whitaker. Read many posts here and some found and read through Google search. I came
across some images I would like to know how to get somewhere in the ballpark in creating  (I do not want to re-create them but a set up for the natural plant life and landscape parameters)
Here's the links.

I think it's done by a combo of abox + foldingintpow or only foldingintpow or who knows. Welcome :alien:

Hi and welcome!

Darkbeam may be right but why don't you ask the author? However, even if he divulges his secret there is a minimum chance to reproduce these shapes. I seriously suggest to go your own way and find something better. ;)

I re-read what I wrote and I meant Formulas instead of Parameters that are more organic. I guess I'm looking for an Encyclopedia of the Formulas to see what they do which might give some insight into how to combine them. As I said, I'm not trying to re-create the persons work.

DarkBeam. I'm confused on this I guess because of the siren smiley. Is there a tool that you can type the Formula into and it tells you what the Formula does basicly?

Try clicking the "i" next to a formula  name.  That tells about each formula's properties, but combining them - that's trial and error.  What combines nicely with one formula could produce garbage combining with another.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much for that tip of clicking the i. :)
Thanks

Don't worry, it's a joke since you normally can not guess which formulas (or which program! :D) are/is used simply looking at an image. But sometimes I guess correctly :dink:

have fun
