Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: M Benesi on October 02, 2012, 10:38:25 PM It was on Neatorama a little earlier: http://www.neatorama.com/2012/09/24/Fractal-Utensils/?load_comments=1 (http://www.neatorama.com/2012/09/24/Fractal-Utensils/?load_comments=1)
I totally spaced on posting it here though... Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: cKleinhuis on October 03, 2012, 03:23:23 AM neither of both linked to us, but the latter got the name right ;)
Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: kram1032 on October 03, 2012, 07:34:23 AM Yeah, I had seen both before already... It's heading to a happy life of being a meme, I'm pretty sure.

I bet the best shape for grabbing and cutting is a fractal shape, kind of like a croc's mouth shape- (http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumblarge_357/1232550686Qg1tpr.jpg) The fork would need bigger gaps between the larger branches, then it might be good at prodding big stuff, and also picking up small stuff with the little prongs. For the spoon, something like this so you can choose how much liquid to measure by choosing which basin to fill- (http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83452464869e2016301b5a154970d-pi) but more concave and oval :dink: Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: M Benesi on October 04, 2012, 03:31:29 AM neither of both linked to us, but the latter got the name right ;) Neatorama did- it's underneath the image. Hover over the word "link"- it's this: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=11458 (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=11458) We could probably get a posting on Neatorama once Kali get's his Fragmentarium stuff done, or maybe if another new formula pops up. @Tglad :D Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: cKleinhuis on October 04, 2012, 08:32:10 AM the infinity set is extraordinary nice, funny to see how long the web takes to discover stuff here ;)
halve a year afterwards we did something here in general it smashes out through the surface :D Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: kram1032 on October 04, 2012, 02:32:54 PM Things like this work exponential, usually.
While that means an extremely steep explosion eventually, it also implies a really slow start ;) This image is likely going to become a meme. Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: M Benesi on October 07, 2012, 02:21:46 AM Is it going to become a meme, with a meme about it becoming a meme, with a meme about the meme about it becoming a meme, with a meme about the meme about the meme about it becoming a meme?
Are fractals meta? Title: Re: Fractal cutlery on boingboing Post by: cKleinhuis on October 07, 2012, 03:02:27 AM but dont we need a big fractalforums.com logo in that meme ?! |
