Title: Stereoscopic fractal backgrounds
Post by: stereoman on September 30, 2012, 09:22:25 PM
Here will come some stereoscopic backgrounds Iīm currently working on, youīll need anaglyph glasses to view them ( you know, the red and blue ones)

Cool, but anaglyph must die! Make V/H stereopaar or swap gif  :embarrass:.

Why do you say that anaglyph must die?, stereopairs can only be viewed by trained people, while everybody can view anaglyphs, even if they are not the best stereo display, I agree.
But itīs interesting, in a stereophoto forum,I stopped anaglyphs in favor of stereopairs, because people there can free view, but in another forum, I had to place anaglyphs because nobody had any idea of freeviewing, I assumed that most people here canīt free view.
The swap gif technique is less appealing to me,I think the shots must be planned for it, but the images I show are backgrounds, characters and foreground will be added later, and the plan aims something different.
This said, if most of  people prefer stereopairs, thereīs no problem.

Stereo Pair can see people with 3d glasses.
I make "swap image" like this http://3d-vj.com/en/3d.html (http://3d-vj.com/en/3d.html) (with "mouseover").

Back to anaglyphs, the maximum size allowed is too small for stereopairs.

Took a look at your site, nice fractals and animations.

Thx! Do you have a website, too?
A love fractals in 3D stereo. I would like to see your fractals in 3D glasses.

Yes, I have a site,  is not stereo related, but I have placed some anaglyphs and a Pulfrich animation titled " Dagon" on it, Iīm currently working in a stereo section, the backgrounds I show here should be part of it once finished.
In case you were curious:

PS. in this link you will find a couple of sample fractal stereopairs from this new stereo section.

The fractal structures seem to recall something primitive in our inner world, perhaps they show our inner world.
Let me explain this a bit, exploring fractals,is quite like looking at clouds in search of images, and where one person sees nothing, another one can see something extraordinary, it depends on the personīs perception, some light and shadow arrangement can have one meaning or another depending of the observer.
So, to see a city street in some arrangement of light and shadows,is a conversion done by my brain, another brain can and usally does to see another thing, but at the moment I say that this is a city street, you see it , you arrange your perception to see what you have been told to see.
This means that we canīt be sure of what we see, we canīt even be sure if what we see is outside or inside us, perspective rules have no clues about this, an inner world would be seen exactly as the world we see.

If I upload an image to the gallery it will appear in the thread?

In its own new thread in this forum, if it's uploaded to the "Fractal Art" gallery.
