Title: I arrive, and I come with code. Post by: CraigM on January 13, 2009, 08:45:47 AM I'm lazy, thus go my welcome post here: http://www.woosie.net/fracfan/viewtopic.php?t=5679 (lots of pictures there, and links to animations etc, I won't post that here because I'm lazy)
Well, I'm not quite that lazy, so I'll offer some info here. I have been developing fractal related stuff for a few years. Play with my evolving fractals at: http://fractals.wikidot.com/start Two mac and win fractals apps at http://www.spincraftsoftware.com/FractalChaos.html and http://www.spincraftsoftware.com/FractalPaths.html Now I'm working in a general purpose n dimensional chaos game based ISF fractal generator. Current experiment results (and other random stuff) here: http://fg.98115.net:4520/~max/fracstuff/ Just so my post looks cooler I'll put in a gigantic picture: (more at http://craig-m.deviantart.com/ ) (http://fg.98115.net:4520/~max/fracstuff/Tree+sunset3.jpg) Well, thats a bit too gigantic, oh well. Look how fractal it is! Title: Re: I arrive, and I come with code. Post by: Cyclops on January 16, 2009, 01:00:57 AM Thats pretty cool! How do you incorporate a frac into a photo? Layers in photoshop?

Hehe. Photoshop? Never! (Well, I'll change my mind as soon as I have it). All done in the GIMP (Free!). Basic process: Use fractal as mask on image. Blur mask, overlay on original fractal. Lots of other tweaks to play with, but thats the basic process I use. Title: Re: I arrive, and I come with code. Post by: Cyclops on January 16, 2009, 12:13:07 PM Thanks! Ah,I tried GIMP but didn't like it. I have photoshop elements which i got for free so I stick with that. I miss the channel mixer tho for doing my B/W photos Hehe. Photoshop? Never!
