Title: Fractalnautica Post by: darklight on August 18, 2012, 11:19:23 AM Hi!
I want to show you my mandelbulb animation. I started to work on this around march 2012. It was a lot of work because there's a plenty scene in it. Hope you like it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTYIWUGB8RE Title: Re: Fractalnautica Post by: DaveH on August 18, 2012, 05:10:02 PM Love the red broccoli at 1:04!
Plus the exploding sphere at 3:45 , very nice. That's a lot of exploring, great work. I would like to have seen more time spent on less fractals, but that's just me. :) Title: Re: Fractalnautica Post by: darklight on August 18, 2012, 06:22:55 PM Thanks! The broccoli is one of my favorite too.. :)
As I watched other fractal films, I found that sometimes they became a bit boring, because the camera moves too slow over a "landscape" through the whole film... So I tried to create lot of scene.. The broccoli is one of my favorite too.. :) Some could have been a little longer though, they didn't have time to become boring. You have to remember that fresh eyes are looking at your work.As I watched other fractal films, I found that sometimes they became a bit boring, because the camera moves too slow over a "landscape" through the whole film... So I tried to create lot of scene.. Saying that, I've also had that problem with fractals, although many of them are amazing, a fatigue sets in because of repetition. It would be nice to combine them all into one landscape. Title: Re: Fractalnautica Post by: darklight on August 19, 2012, 04:35:12 PM Yes, you're right. While I made the film I watched these fractals over countless hours but the viewer - who see it for the first time - has fresh eyes.
Anyway, many people in my acquaintance doesn't know the fractals so I tried to make a movie to show them the diversity of this world. I'm the same, and I get the feeling that they're not really into them, unlike like myself! The really large spaces with cathedral architecture seem to work well, but perhaps sometimes fractal worlds are so unfamiliar and other-worldly that people 'switch off' from what they're seeing, in a semi-hypnotised stupor! :scared: Title: Re: Fractalnautica Post by: darklight on August 22, 2012, 07:34:00 PM Yes, i know that. :) When I found this "broccoli" fractal, it came another idea: to make a film that shows real-life objects, and then fractals - similar to these objects. I think it would be a great project to find these simillarities, and peoples like this kind of stuff... :) |
