Title: Super detail Minibrot Post by: rollercoaster158 on August 11, 2012, 07:02:46 PM (http://s13.postimage.org/xgx0dni13/Super_detail_Minibrot.png) (http://postimage.org/image/jn8nolpfn/full/)
Full 1080p download: http://www.mediafire.com/?vcrc8h36fymllec Thanks to Pauldelbrot for his coloring scheme. This is the minibrot of another minibrot of another minibrot of another minibrot... about 5 or 6 levels deep. The result takes 2,000,000 iterations to display but illustrates how immensely complex the Mandelbrot set is. Rendering time 2 hours in Ultrafractal. And you're welcome. I've noticed a dearth of Mandelbrot figures in the gallery. I just looked and the front page has only a handful of images, like 5 or 6, showing minibrots or parts of them -- and those were all by me. Title: Re: Super detail Minibrot Post by: rollercoaster158 on August 12, 2012, 12:00:11 AM You're right-it seems that people have lost interest in the Mandelbrot set, and there's a lot more 3d fractals/other fractals in the gallery currently. Some of my favorite gallery pictures are your Spring Garden, Seahorse Odyssey and Mandelbrot Safari series. I have way more minibrot renders, but this is probably one of the more intriguing ones. Let me know if you want to see them :)
Title: Re: Super detail Minibrot Post by: Pauldelbrot on August 12, 2012, 12:07:00 AM Why not post them all here? If they're hosted elsewhere it won't put much strain on this site.
Quote Some of my favorite gallery pictures are your Spring Garden, Seahorse Odyssey and Mandelbrot Safari series. Thanks. There's a new Spring Garden up as of this morning, which features a minibrot. The Spring Gardens are multiwave colored, but are a more complex formula than z2 + c so there's many intelocking bubbles of different colors in many of them. Title: Re: Super detail Minibrot Post by: plynch27 on October 26, 2012, 03:53:53 AM I'm curious. What's the zoom depth and minimum iterations on this render? I saw that the bail-out was set at 2,000,000 which -- considering the size and cleanliness of the image -- leads me to believe that it's relatively shallow -- emphasis on "relatively". Maybe 2^100x ?

Zoom depth was just before arbitrary precision kicked in, to keep render times low. I don't have the parameters, but i know the zoom is somewhere around 2^45. |
