Title: Display rulers ( and grids)
Post by: PhotoComix on July 25, 2012, 11:05:46 AM
I think will be very useful as visual help to align the object to render in the correct place on the chosen BG a couple  xy rulers,(with possibility to see as grid ) , 1 for thee main windows and 1 for the 3D nav.

The reason is very simple the 3D nav can't show the the chosen BG that instead may be visualized  in the Main windows and vice versa

visible and numbered xy coordinates would solve allowing if wished a perfect  alignment

Obviously i' m am talking of a visual help that may be toggled in...or off of the way

just a example here i managed to place the vertex of my object ALMOST where i wished, the x coordinate is correct, but the y coordinate is a bit too high..but as now more precision is just impossible, would took ages of trial and errors since  each trial require a new render

Instead a couple of matching rulers, 1 for the nav ,1 for the main windows would make it so easy !

the example :

Already thought of something for a quicker judgement of background rotation, a small preview window or something.
But more for coarse tuning.

Takes to much time evrything  :hurt:

quicker judgement of background rotation,
i was not thinking much to the rotation in case of spherical mapping , i may see the effect in real time so i don't much feel the need
Instead i found difficult , using the BG as it is guess where the object will be exactly placed once i will do the rendering.

a small preview window or something.

i suggested rulers and grid because are simple to use and may be simpler to implement
