Title: Hello from Texas Post by: redtank on July 12, 2012, 01:46:45 AM Hello all,
Glad to have found this forum...found it while looking and the online website/info for Mandelbulber. My background regarding fractals: started playing with 2D fractal programs such as "Fractinc" back in 1991 when I bought my first IBM clone pc....downloaded the program from a BBS and things took off. My pc's processor was a AMD 386-40 and MB has a co-processor chip to expedite renderings, at the same time, I tinkered with Povray and raytracing...I loved the science. Got away from fractals until I 2008 when I was learning Java programming. Quickly I discovered how to program fractal rendering in Java (using command line interface) and get some nice results, including multiply renderings allowing me to compile animations. Again, all this in 2D...but still exciting. Now I see the science has evolved to 3D and from looking at some of the sample renderings on the net, it is almost unbelievable. Hope I can contribute something to this forum...right now I'm trying to learn Mandelbulber! Thanks, Cris Title: Re: Hello from Texas Post by: cKleinhuis on July 12, 2012, 09:13:41 AM hello and welcome to the forums, glance at the board rules and guidelines
