Title: Rococo Kaleidoscope Post by: Duncan C on December 01, 2008, 03:00:08 AM (http://www.pbase.com/duncanc/image/106330992/original.jpg)
This is a Mandelbrot set fractal rendered in 3D using FractalWorks. I then turned the image into a Kaleidoscope in Photoshop. One problem with creating kaleidoscopes from 3D images is that I flip and rotate parts of a 3D image to create the kaleidoscope, and the light and shadow direction ends up different in different parts of the image. This reduces the 3D effect of the image. To fix this, I should make my program take a triangular portion of the 3D image and flip and rotate it as a 3D model, then light that. That would give the best 3D effect, but it would be a lot of work. :sad1: Duncan C Title: Re: Rococo Kaleidoscope Post by: fractalwizz on December 01, 2008, 05:16:17 AM psychedelics are always my favorite imagery. :smooth:
