Title: DE stop - Raystep multiplier - Stepwidth limiter Post by: CeleXaoS on June 11, 2012, 11:35:06 AM Could someone explain to the noob here what DE stop - Raystep multiplier and Stepwidth limiter means . :hmh:
I can use them to get a nice result BUT i don't know what they are changing on the fractal ? (I think that DE-stop reveals the smaller and deeper details of a fractal ...or i could be wrong ) Help is Welcome Title: Re: DE stop - Raystep multiplier - Stepwidth limiter Post by: DarkBeam on June 11, 2012, 06:49:53 PM DE stop - Tells MB how close he must go to the "fractal surface"... So if you need a more smooth one, use a big value :) but you will lose more and more detail
Raystep multiplier - It's the main render quality key value Stepwidth limiter - should have something to do with quality also but it has less effect. Don't ask me more ;D Title: Re: DE stop - Raystep multiplier - Stepwidth limiter Post by: Madman on June 11, 2012, 07:04:58 PM Decreasing the raystep multiplier will increase the accuracy of the render and give you more detail at the cost of longer rendering times. Too high values will cause overstepping and create holes in your fractal. The stepwith limiter used to be very important in reducing overstepping "holes", but has less impact simce Jesse made improvements in the raystep multiplier.
