How did they get that coloring result? Title: Re: Image Coloring Help Post by: cKleinhuis on October 19, 2008, 01:01:29 PM ? what do you mean ?
a good start is to use a color scheme generator like this one: http://www.wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html O0 Title: Re: Image Coloring Help Post by: fractalwizz on October 19, 2008, 11:31:28 PM what one or more color layers could produce a result like that?
Title: Re: Image Coloring Help Post by: cKleinhuis on October 19, 2008, 11:59:02 PM what one or more color layers could produce a result like that? i still do not see on what you are refering to .... you do not have to work with layers, just choose some colors from the generator, and make a palette containing those values :evil1: Title: Can't see your sample image Post by: Duncan C on October 20, 2008, 08:56:09 PM (http://www.fractopolis.com/gallery/free/fractal_wallpapers/free1024x768/free_fractal_1024x768_00032W1z.jpg) How did they get that coloring result? I can't see your sample image either. Title: Re: Image Coloring Help Post by: fractalwizz on October 21, 2008, 03:12:03 AM ?

OK here is the image he is talking about: Click Here (http://www.fractopolis.com/gallery/free/fractal_wallpapers/free1024x768/free_fractal_1024x768_00032W1z.jpg) I think Fractopolis blocks hotlinking because I don't see it in the thread despite the code being written properly. It looks like a "normal" color palette in Chaos Pro (or other similar programs) looks to me. Try one with Lots of lines (bands) in the palette. I wont have time to play and try to duplicate it until the weekend. I don't think there is any special mapping algorithm going on, but I hope those more familiar may have an answer now that a link to the image in question has been posted! Title: Re: Image Coloring Help Post by: cKleinhuis on October 21, 2008, 06:03:02 PM hi there, now i got it, the trick used here is to use a discrete color map ( with a limited number of colors, e.g. 255 ) and then make every second color black, color simply by iteration, thats it .... :dink:
Title: Re: Image Coloring Help Post by: fractalwizz on October 21, 2008, 06:17:54 PM sweet, thanks. I have posted the result on my deviant.
