Title: Brand new fractal web app: no download required! Post by: lytnus on May 13, 2012, 01:04:56 PM Hey all,
I just finished making a fractal explorer web application that I thought might be interesting for those new to fractals (like I was!). Its simply a webpage with a fractal (mandelbrot or julia) that you can zoom in on/move around. You can change the colours used, and if you find a fractal you want to share, you can copy a link or generate an image of it to save to your computer :) Sooo, if you're new to fractals or just want a play, feel free to check it out: www.carefullyconstructed.co.uk/projects/fractal (http://www.carefullyconstructed.co.uk/projects/fractal) Let me know what you think :) James PS You'll need a relatively new browser for this: internet explorer 9 or above, and a newish version of firefox, chrome or safari should all be fine! You can set the number of threads to whatever you like (ideally equal to the number of cores your cpu has), in order to significantly speed up the rendering and saving of fractals when you ramp up the quality or max iterations :) Want to show someone what a fractal is, or explore mandelbrot and julia sets without the need to install anything? Check it out :) |
