Title: the Escher Borg

the textures used were  exported in the NEW  layers option
the 16bit zBuffer was used to make a Normal Map for the shading
and exported in simple-cylindrical planetgraphic  format ( the equal rectangle area )

the layers used
z buffer - for the Height map ( 8bit jpg of the 16 bit image)
inverted and gamma corrected

 I'm glad that layer exporting function is usable. I didn't know for what it could be used, but now I see.

the layers are good for using in other 3d programs
this one is Celestia .You could use them in Pov-Ray also or Lightwave or any render

imressive results and cool idea - very natural. :ok:

i like the individual layers too - you can not only create images impossible to the pure renderer, especially the zbuffer makes it much easier, to create masks for postwork. my recent works live from this feature!  ;D
