Title: Doctor Who and Fractals Post by: tobiles on April 29, 2012, 02:59:18 AM Folks,
Are many of you familiar with Doctor Who, the durable sci-fi series from the BBC? One of the repeating gags of the show is that his ship, the Tardis (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) is a police phone booth that is bigger on the inside than on the outside, and in fact transforms periodically, and has many chambers, hallways, even a swimming pool on one level, supposedly. So, you can see how it might fit into the realm of fractals, right? So, here is a template fractal joke for you: Benoit Mandelbrot and (MC Escher for example) walk into the Tardis, turn to each other and say ... Some possible punchlines might be: "This sure feels like home" "Did I hear a Peano?" "I knew this is what my heaven would be like" Okay, maybe not so much of a joke, but I bet I got a smile out of some of you, and that's all I require. Maybe it will inspire somebody else. Iterate as you wish. Tobiles Title: Re: Doctor Who and Fractals Post by: David Makin on April 29, 2012, 03:38:10 PM Mandelbrot to Escher: Knock, knock
Escher: Who's there ? Mandelbrot: Doctor Escher....... Sorry, couldn't resist ;) Title: Re: Doctor Who and Fractals Post by: DarkBeam on May 06, 2012, 05:55:31 PM I totally cannot understand those jokes. :sadness: |
