Open source program (GNU GPL) for rendering photo-realistic 3D fractals Free download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mandelbulber/ Website: http://sites.google.com/site/mandelbulber/ http://www.mandelbulber.com/ User manual: http://wiki.mandelbulber.com/index.php?title=User_Manual Tutorial for creating animations: http://wiki.mandelbulber.com/index.php?title=Getting_Started New features in version 1.12: - saving of image layers in separate files example: (http://nocache-nocookies.digitalgott.com/gallery/11/thumb_640_24_04_12_7_50_17.jpeg) (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=11107) click to enlarge - support for Full-dome rendering (tested in Olsztyn Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory - now I'm preparing HD 4k animations for them) - fish eye effect is improved and now is compatible with full-dome digital projectors (option "Fish eye 180 degree cut", FOV =1.0) SVN repository: http://mandelbulber.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ This repository is available from Google Code: http://code.google.com/p/mandelbulber/ Mandelbulber is also available in Debian (testing - Wheezy) repository. Most awesome, as always. Thanks so much for this. Small request: I'm starting to tinker with the stereoscopic 3D rendering and noticed that it only outputs JPEG. Is it possible to have it select the image format from "Auto-save/animation image format" selection? I was thinking of doing some post-processing and color grading and I had the need for 16-bit image. Also, does the 'depth of field focus point' determine the position where the sterescopic images converge? Thanks again for the greatest fractal software. Ever. <3      Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.12 Post by: mcc on April 28, 2012, 11:05:41 AM Hi Buddhi,
GREAT! Thank you very much for all the versions! And thank you for the new version! :) It is a wonderful software! Yeah! :) Have a nice weekend! Best regards, mcc Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.12 Post by: taurus on April 28, 2012, 04:42:47 PM wow, thanks buddhi! especially the multiple layer option is great to fiddle out the edge in post production. :ok:
keep on rockin' ;D Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.12 Post by: Inkydigit on April 29, 2012, 07:19:07 PM thanks krzysztof!
:) Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.12 Post by: taurus on May 09, 2012, 10:36:45 PM i think, i found some kind of bug. when using positional light the alpha channel image gets unusable as black discs are created around the light sources.
anyhow a great new feature Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.12 Post by: knighty on May 10, 2012, 03:53:34 PM Great new version!

I have been enjoying Mandelbulber for a while now. Congrats on the programme. The layers options looks very usefull. Awaiting a mac version with interest. I saw a tutorial for making a 3d mesh from 3d fractals with many 'slices' of information. I am assuming this can be applied to mandelbulber. Has anyone any experience/tips for doing this? (Before i blindly jump into it) Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.12 Post by: isosceles on May 22, 2012, 11:20:32 PM Amazing! Loving the true fulldome support. Looks fantastic on the dome and so immersive.

A bite: day version (gtk Leopard theme) (http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/154/f/3/mandelbulber_giorno_gtk_leopard_by_bermarte-d523k0t.png) and night version (nodoka theme) :D (http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/154/7/2/mandelbulber_notte_nodoka_midnight_by_bermarte-d523jum.png) there are also other themes to apply to mandelbulber for mac; just type /usr/local/mandelbulber/bin/gtk-chtheme inside terminal and press <enter> to select your theme and apply it. One can always install a new theme (for linux or for win.) without troubles. Now all the files are created without messing with macports :hurt: Quote I saw a tutorial for making a 3d mesh from 3d fractals with many 'slices' of information.I am assuming this can be applied to mandelbulber. Thanks for the response, absolutely no apologies nessecary! Oooh a nice dark theme, my favourite.... and thanks so much for the for the link. I will report back on the variety of pitfalls that await. @ Weaver, needless to say i did not wait for tips.... i felt the need and did it. I felt the need and did. I felt.
