Title: Formulas
Post by: Fractacular on April 01, 2012, 10:07:52 PM
Why are there no Newton formulas available in M3D?

Can formula files from other programs be imported into M3D?  What I would love to be able to do is import some fractint formulas and explore those in 3D.

Newton - Triplex - dodgy/no division algebra (and calculus) ;)

First thank you for everything (History is a good idea)
but  Makin David is right: there is a lack of things to M3D
personnaly I ask for nothing because I think already have too much to ask especially luca
I try to understand MOBIUSTPX but it's very hard, it is the key of the most beautiful fractals (see other programs) or images were put through the net
thank you again

Would lead to nowhere... Luca :dink:

THAT what I hope is to do as in Incendia

It think, there are no 3D Newton formulas in no whatever fractal generator. They simply don't work in 3D as in 2D. 3D fractals realy is outsides of 2D fractals, if quaternionic they are revolved. None realy had invented some way to make newton formulas in 3D. I once tried supernewton formula on Chaos pro, but I got only revolution surface or black screen.

What I would love to be able to do is import some fractint formulas and explore those in 3D.

Fractint formulas is just text file compiled by fractint on the fly. Here formulas are pure machine codes. So If you want tro write 3D formulas, I would recomend Fragmentarium or Chaos pro for older machines.

Somebody made a Newton heightfield, that's 2d extruded. ;D

Actually one can render both Quaternionic and Bi-complex Newton's without a problem (and Julibrots) - even using analytical DE provided that the attractors concerned are point attractors....however things are not so easy when it comes to the Triplex in fact there's no guarantee that the Newton in Triplex form will even converge ;) I have been meaning to "suck it and see" at some point myself, I just haven't got round to it yet.

Oops - I should add I think one of my older formulas for UF rendered the Julibrot and bi Newtons, but I forget.....

Also 3D Quats...(in this case solid based on orbit trap nim. dist.)

So there are;) First one are pretty nice when "wings" are cutted.
