Title: Color Maps Post by: Fractacular on March 29, 2012, 04:21:34 PM Is there a collection of color maps that can be downloaded for Mandelbulb 3d?
Many Thanks! Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: DarkBeam on March 29, 2012, 04:36:37 PM Oh check here http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=downloads;cat=11 ;D

Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: PhotoComix on March 30, 2012, 09:23:27 AM other 93 maps on http://photocomix2.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4rzomy
Anyway M3D may use Maps for lighting, and for color objects, i designed mine mostly for the second task (well most should be adapt to both task ) (and are very sensitive to offsetting, the minimum change in the x,y or z offset may considerably alter the effect (i use the computer "<" and ">"to fine-tune their position because sliders tend to skip intermediate values ) Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: DarkBeam on March 30, 2012, 07:45:35 PM Maps for sphere-bump, anyone? :horsie:
Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: Alef on March 31, 2012, 07:57:08 PM Is there downloadable colour palletes, or they must be saved manualy bay saving when looading other peoples fractals?
Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: DarkBeam on April 01, 2012, 12:02:38 AM I found some palettes in a site, long time ago... Can not remember
Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: PhotoComix on April 01, 2012, 02:23:29 AM how do you use palette in M3D ?
Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: Sockratease on April 01, 2012, 09:14:26 AM how do you use palette in M3D ? They mean Lights. l think... Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: PhotoComix on April 01, 2012, 03:44:14 PM that would make more sense
BTW Darkbeam was joking about sphere mapping ? there are tons of options that i discover little by little but if there are options for any kind of bump map should be very well hidden ! I think that was a reference to "SphereHeightMap" in the dIFS formulas. That's how I made this: (http://www.sockrateaze.com/stuff/li2b.gif) I just used the same image for the Height Map and the Light Map (had to flip one horizontally so they lined up properly). Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: PhotoComix on April 01, 2012, 04:08:15 PM ah..
sorry to bomb with question but i saw the option to apply a map to the light source, another to use a map to "object Color" but were is that to use a map as height map ? Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: Sockratease on April 01, 2012, 04:28:10 PM ah.. sorry to bomb with question but i saw the option to apply a map to the light source, another to use a map to "object Color" but were is that to use a map as height map ? It's a formula in the dIFS section: I think that was a reference to "SphereHeightMap" in the dIFS formulas. EDIT : There's also HeightMapIFS if you want it planar instead of on a sphere. Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: PhotoComix on April 01, 2012, 04:47:05 PM now i got it..thanks
Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: lxh on April 01, 2012, 08:34:40 PM Is there downloadable colour palletes, or they must be saved manualy bay saving when looading other peoples fractals? Other peoples fractals or other peoples parameters? *gDon't post formulas, parameters or better any kind of fractal software! Is that what you mean? Is that what you mean? hu..why not ? sure somebody may try to wrote some "malicious" formula or parameter that will keep the computer busy rendering for a couple of weeks, just to get a blank image output But what the gain for such malicious hacker when just clicking the "stop calculation " button the problem would be solved ? Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: Alef on April 03, 2012, 06:05:19 PM They mean Lights. Yes. I meant lights. l think... Someone with colour theory and some artistic background could share lights. Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: lxh on April 03, 2012, 07:00:38 PM So i really got you wrong Asdam. Sorry for that.

Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: DarkBeam on April 04, 2012, 01:36:34 PM That is as unlikely as to find the holy grail by attempts ;)
Title: Re: Color Maps Post by: Alef on April 10, 2012, 06:17:55 PM I have some light to share. Actualy only antarctic and swamp are my creations, other are stolen, but I would vote for Pirate Party. Here is 4 lights. I just want other to encourage to share lights. (What are colour pallete + settings.) |
