Title: Interesting hyperbolic shapes
Post by: Alef on March 21, 2012, 06:52:39 PM
These shapes looks interesting:

Throught there is no formulas for that.
But google brings strange book, how you can knit these hyperbolic shapes
http://www.math.cornell.edu/~dwh/papers/crochet/crochet.html (http://www.math.cornell.edu/~dwh/papers/crochet/crochet.html)

(Her husband used paper models to show the students hyperbolic shapes, but paper models was too frail. So she knited hyperbolic shapes.)

Probably some transformations could create something like that. Pretty cool shapes, I think.
