Title: Mandelbrot Maps: An open-source Mandelbrot/Julia explorer for Android
Post by: withad on March 20, 2012, 07:35:07 PM
I'm a final year Computer Science student at the University of Edinburgh, and for my undergraduate dissertation project I've developed Mandelbrot Maps, an Android app for exploring the Mandelbrot set and the associated Julia sets. You can download it for free from the Google Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.ac.ed.inf.mandelbrotmaps) (formerly the Android Market).

The app is designed to showcase the relationship between the two sets, letting people see the visual similarities between a point in the Mandelbrot set and its associated Julia set. It's based on an existing Java web applet that students before me had developed for their dissertations.

Once you're done, leaving a rating or a review on the Store page would be extremely useful, as I can refer to them in my dissertation. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, I've also got a short survey here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dE9vekRmcEVEUDJoWlF0Tm45SkZMeHc6MQ#gid=0) that would give me even better feedback. The source code is on my GitHub, linked from the Store page.

Sorry if I'm sounding spammy, but I figured you guys might be interested and would be able to give some good evaluations.
