Title: Love Can Come From Anywhere
Post by: msltoe on March 10, 2012, 08:47:32 PM
Check out my beginner's level 2-D fractal animation. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to promote independent music (or not) and I thought this would be a good start.

On the scale of music video qualities, it's a bit better than a simple slideshow :)

Everything is original and mine. If anyone's interested in working with me for future music video projects, let me know.

Nice mellow tune!  I'm also a big fan of FLStudio.

Hey !!!

I too am doing the same thing: Promoting my solo musical project through Animations !! Imagine that !!

My original vision was to cut my solo cd and then have each song as a YT video (so much cheaper than making a vid). So right now I'm making weird industrial music to test these waters and see responses. What kind of response have you gotten ?

I'll be completing my second render later this week and am composing for that one as well.

Yay for solo indie musicians trying to geek out the world with our mathematical abilities.

Nice song btw and nice animation. They go well together.

rahulmukerji,

I found a few other people like the combo of music/fractal. Getting eyes and ears on your music videos is difficult. Posting your stuff to forums like this helps. Technically, it's considered spamming if there's any whiff of commercial value.
Another thing I noticed is that high quality deep zooms (which I'm not doing) can attract up to 3k YT'ers per year.
Hopefully, ventures into 3D will yield better promotion than 2d.

Hey Michael !

Thanks, so far my music has no commercial value  ;D

I'm just trying to get some exposure to my music and trying my hand at some fun fractals. I'm really enjoying the process so far.

Interesting stats you have there on the YT hits. I'll check out mine in a year and let's see. I have gotten more people subscribing ever since I started making these vids  ;D

Thanks again and best of luck !

Rahul
