Generally speaking, the main problem when playing with 3D fractals is that you rely most of the time on luck and exploration! This is extremely difficult to replicate an existing shape, except if that's a simple one, or some shape for which you already know the recipe. IMHO, the best way to enjoy fractals is to do tests, explorations, discoveries, not to try to reproduce precisely something you have in mind.
